In late 2021, the four regions of Grace Presbytery were sub-divided into eight smaller geographic groups for the purpose of conducting listening sessions and gathering feedback from our members and congregations.

In an effort to craft a vision statement for Grace Presbytery, and ultimately communicate this vision to the General Presbyter Search Committee, Rev. Dr. Steve Shive and our presbytery council extended invitations to all pastors, ruling elders, and educators to participate in visioning conversations.

In-person and Zoom visioning discussions began in September 2021 and continued through March 2022, for a total of 16 regional discussions; moderated by Steve Shive & M.E. Clary. PC(USA) Research Services also conducted a survey on behalf of Grace Presbytery of the presbytery members and constituents.

The in-person gatherings, Zoom meetings, and the online survey consisted of eight open response questions requesting input and feedback concerning the state of the presbytery, the needs of churches, and ideas for the future.

Data collected during this process was then shared with Grace Presbytery’s visioning team leaders (Dream Team) for their discernment – with the ultimate goal of crafting of a vision statement and strategic initiatives for Grace Presbytery to embrace and endeavor to achieve over the next 2-3 year period.
