Grace Presbytery hosts Co-Moderator

Vilmarie Cintrón-Olivieri is an ESL teacher and a Presbyterian elder. A life-long Presbyterian, Vilmarie was ordained in San Juan, Puerto Rico, 25 years ago. At some point in her life, she has served the PC(USA) at the session level, as a member and chair of several presbytery committees, vice moderator of Synod Boriquén and council member, a commissioner to the 212th General Assembly, a member of the General Assembly Committee on Theological Education and as Moderator of the Presbytery of Tropical Florida.

Vilmarie holds a B.A. in Education (English as a Second Language) from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s in Education (Curriculum and Teaching) from Turabo University. Dedicating most of her adult life to education, teaching high schoolers and adults from all over the world, her first classroom was a Sunday School one.

Along with the Rev. Cindy Kohlmann, Resource Presbyter of the Presbyteries of Boston and Northern New England, Vilmarie serves as Co-Moderator of the 223rd General Assembly (2018) of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Vilmarie will visit First Presbyterian Church, Dallas on Friday, February 21 to tour The Stewpot and also spend time Friday evening with youth and young adult members. She will lead worship during the Saturday, February 22 stated meeting, as well as a break-out group from 1:00 – 2:15 p.m.
