The following study resources are available from Grace Presbytery’s Resource Center. Contact Resource Center Director, Leah Wyckoff, to reserve them.

Six Themes… This new series of six-session Bible studies from Presbyterian Publishing introduces major books of the Bible and their main themes. Genesis, Matthew, Luke, and 1&2 Timothy, as well as a Bible overview are currently available. Each book contains both participant reading and discussion leader materials. Available for preview from Grace Presbytery’s Resource Center and for purchase from the Presbyterian Church Store.

Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation, by Bruce Metzger and David deSilva (Abingdon, 2019). 6-session video-based study of the revised edition of the book by the same title, which includes solid biblical scholarship on Revelation in a non-academic style from Bruce Metzger with updates based on current biblical research and additional teaching from New Testament scholar David deSilva.

Dialogues On: Sexuality (Sparkhouse, 2019) Seven-session video-based group study on sexuality and gender issues. Each session features a short video that includes interviews and perspectives about sexuality on topics like patriarchy, women’s rights, sex and marriage, and why language matters. The video offers a real-life glimpse at how these topics impact daily lives and what it means to the broader community, spurring conversation and discussion around the topics.

The Gospel According to Leviticus: Finding God’s Love in God’s Law, by David Kalas (Abingdon, 2019). Six-session small group study of that explores the book of Leviticus, focusing on God’s love at work in the law and also relevant lessons from the law that could only come from the same loving God we’ve known elsewhere in Scripture.

A New Playlist: Hearing Jesus in a Noisy World, by Jacob Armstrong (Abingdon, 2018). Six-session video-based Bible study that explores the Sermon on the Mount as a new playlist for our lives that counters the messages our culture may give us.

The New Testament You Never Knew, by N.T. Wright and Michael Bird. 8-session video-based Bible study that takes participants on a tour of the story behind the explosive story of the New Testament. Through reading the New Testament we continually discover that God indeed keeps promises, but the fulfilment of those promises doesn’t always look like what people expected.

Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times, by Adam Hamilton. Five-session video-based study that explores the worries and fears that many people experience and shows how Christian families and communities are called to live as peacemakers in troubled times. Youth and children’s sessions also available.

The Grace Presbytery Resource Center is open during presbytery office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday during the summer months. (Friday hours will resume August 23, 2019.)
