Apply Here

The Congregational Support Committee is accepting applications for 2018 Congregational Mission Initiative Grants. Congregations are encouraged to download the application, which is available at the presbytery website. The deadline for submissions is November 2, 2017.

The grants are offered as encouragement and support to the congregations of Grace Presbytery for the creation of new and innovative ministries within their own walls as well as for ministries that reach out to their local communities. These funds, intended to be seed money, are provided for a one-year period.

Each year, approximately one dozen awards are presented to develop these ministries. Wonderful examples include ESL classes, health fairs for adult congregation members, prayer/meditation gardens, senior adult ministries, community gardens to provide food to those in need, outreach to refugees, educational support for children and youth, and much more.

The Presbytery Council also approved a second grant called a Ministry Needs Grant (MNG). The deadline to apply for this is also November 2, 2017. Ministry Need Grant Purpose is: To assist smaller congregations of Grace Presbytery in enhancing current ministry or programs by funding the purchase of non-budgeted items for such use.

Maximum amount of Ministry Need Grant:  up to $500

Special attention will be given to requests in the areas of technology, evangelism and education.  The Congregational Support Committee of Grace Presbytery reserves the right to fund grants at levels that might differ from the requested amount.

Restrictions on use

These grants may not be used for staff compensation or debt retirement, and are only available to churches with a membership of 150 or smaller.  A congregation may only apply once per year, and may not receive funds in subsequent years to support the same ministry/program.

Endorsement Required

Grant applications shall be endorsed by the Session of the church that applies for the grant.  If the ministry or program involves more than one congregation, all Sessions involved must submit an endorsement.
