Mission Outreach

Grace Presbytery works to support the outreach programs of our congregations, the Synod of the Sun, and the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Our mission-study trips invite paricipants to gain a fuller understanding of the issues and complexities faced by our brother and sisters across the country and across the globe.

When you join us on a mission-study excursion, you can expect to engage in meaningful cultural and religious dialogue, while learning from some the world’s most esteemed scholars and theolgoians.

Mission-Study opporunties include (and have included): McAllen, Texas; Douglas, Arizona and Agua Prieta, Mexico; Argentina and Uruguay; the Philippines and the Holy Land of the Middle East.

Mission Initiative Grants

Does your congregation have an idea for a new ministry? Do you need “seed money” to make it happen?

The purpose of the Congregational Mission Initiative Grant is to encourage and support congregations in the creation of new and innovative ministries within the church and communities they serve. These funds are intended to be “seed money” that will enable congregations to create new ministries, and as such, they are limited to one year of funding.

The Mission Initiative Grant application is located in the Document Library.

Mission Coworkers

rev. cathy chang

From their home base in Manila, Philippines, Cathy Chang and Juan Lopez will help global partners address issues of migration and human trafficking.  The UN’s International Labor Organization estimates 21 million people are victims of coerced labor and/or forced sexual exploitation.  While human trafficking is a worldwide problem, countries in Asia are increasingly vulnerable. Cathy and Juan will work with Asian churches and non-governmental organizations to help coordinate efforts related to the scourge of modern-day slavery. They will also resource various programs of the Presbyterian Mission Agency and US congregations concerned about the issue.
