Job Listing: Minister of Spiritual Life – Presbyterian Communities and Services


This position is based at The Villages of Dallas (550 East Ann Arbor Avenue, Dallas, TX 75216)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduate of college and seminary
• Minimum of five years chaplain or pastoral experience preferred. Experience working with elderly a plus
• Skilled in counseling and preaching
• Ability to conduct worship services
• Ability to relate to persons in various physical, mental, or emotional conditions
• Ability to relate to persons with varying ethnic and religious backgrounds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Model a service and solutions oriented attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, visitors, and co-workers
• Ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
• Maintain good attendance record
• Responsible for the planning and administration of the departmental budget
• Visit residents upon admission to introduce self and the pastoral services available
• Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to residents, families, and staff
• Respond to after-hours calls if necessary. Set up backup system for support
• Lead worship services
• Lead funeral/memorial services if requested
• Develop and lead pastoral programs based on individual and organizational needs
• Initiate and maintain communication with churches who have congregational members at the campus through notification of admission, discharge, transfer, or death of resident members
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Minister of Spiritual Life at Presbyterian Village North
