Educator Certification - General Information
Because of the importance of Christian Education to the total ministry of the church, the Presbyterian Church (USA) recognizes persons employed as professional Church Educators by certifying them as Christian Educators or as Associates in Christian Education.
Certification requires knowledge and skills in the following areas:
* Biblical Interpretation *
* Reformed Theology *
* Human Development
* Religious Education Theory and Practice *
* Presbyterian Polity
* Presbyterian Program and Mission
* Presbyterian Worship **
* These courses must be taken once for the Associate Certified level and again for the Certified Christian Educator level.
** Only those pursuing the Certified Christian Educator level are required to take this course.
